Gold Discovered at St. Margaret’s!

The legend that catching a leprechaun will help you reach a pot of gold came to life on St. Patrick’s Day, when a six-foot-three-inch-tall leprechaun wandered from his lair in the Upper School. Lora Allison, Director of Student Activities, reports that “He hadn’t even got past the steps of the Upper School when he was surrounded by Katy Desmond’s Kindergarten class, who ‘caught’ the leprechaun.” The Kindergarteners then escorted him to the Preschool, where he met with preschoolers on the playground and in the classrooms.

The leprechaun, played by Upper School student Chasen Smith, grade 12, handed out golden coins and answered the preschooler’s questions.

The Story of Frog Belly Rat Bone: An Assembly for Preschool and Lower School Students

Monday, in an assembly supported by the PTF Arts Alliance, Rogue Artists Ensemble performed an adaptation of the book The Story of Frog Belly Rat Bone, by Timothy Basil Ering, for Lower School and Preschool students at St. Margaret’s. Life-size puppets gathered in “Cementland,” aka Sillers Hall, to search for treasure. A boy, a rabbit, a rat, a fruit fly and a singing monster find a mysterious envelope filled with gray specks.
