At the Early Childhood Development Center Visiting Day, parents, grandparents and our youngest St. Margaret’s students explored the Preschool (ECDC) and their classrooms, connected with teachers and made new friends before school officially begins for these students on Wednesday.

Please review the following Drop Off/Pick Up, campus traffic flow and parking procedures for the 2011-2012 school year, including the process for families with children in multiple divisions of the school.
Please take special note of the following changes:
1) There are new designated parking spaces (painted green for parents) and instructions for parents who wish to park and walk onto campus to pick up their children.
2) The Drop Off/Pick Up location for grades 4 and 5 have changed.

SMES Psychology Students Broaden Their Knowledge of Child Development

This past week, my eight classmates and I had the opportunity to put into practice what we have been studying in Mr. Ryan Dahlem’s psychology class. The assignment started with a presentation by Mrs. Ingrid Andrews, director of the Early Childhood Development Center and Wee Tartan Center. Over the span of two different class meetings, we walked over to the Preschool to observe the children in the classroom and on the playground.

Tartans Awaken the Christmas Spirit Through Carols and Dance

This week, campus was brightened and the spirit of the holiday season was celebrated in dance and musical performances from all divisions.
The Lower School presented its annual Advent and Christmas Service of Lessons and Carols. This was the 32nd annual gathering of our longest-standing St. Margaret’s tradition. The Middle School and Upper School celebrated the holidays by showcasing their musical and instrumental talents, the Preschool performed the annual Christmas Pageant and students from all divisions performed in the All-School Dance Recital.

A Wet but Very Successful St. Margaret’s Open House

The heavy rain certainly didn’t deter prospective students and parents from attending this year’s annual Admission Open House on Saturday. St. Margaret’s students, faculty, parents and administrators showcased the unique strengths and characteristics of a St. Margaret’s education to hundreds of visitors throughout the day.
