Alison Wachtel, St. Margaret’s P4 parent, came up with a wonderful idea to support children in need in our area sparked by her desire to honor the children of Newtown, Conn. One of the mothers of the victims in Newtown recently stated her family decided to, “choose love over anger” and continues to share the message “Love Wins.”

Adorably costumed children had an opportunity to promenade past teachers, visiting parents, friends and classmates during Halloween celebrations that began last Friday with the Lower School Halloween Parade and continued with this morning’s Preschool parade.

The Lower School Halloween Parade also included a special surprise dedication to Headmaster Marcus D. Hurlbut. As Mr. Hurlbut is an avid boater, the dedication included the Lower School faculty constructing a sea life theme that came to life around him.

St. Margaret’s Early Childhood Development Center is the first school in Orange County, Calif., to be designated as a “Recognized Outdoor Classroom Site” by the California Outdoor Classroom Project.

During their Library time on Monday May 21, Lore Fredette’s Preschool class experienced connected via Skype with students from the Pueri Regnum Preschool in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Both classes exchanged classic children’s songs and dances in both English and Portuguese.
