The St. Margaret’s community will welcome its first-ever Tartan Marching Band on Friday, September 24 at the home football game versus Whittier Christian. Since August 27, the Tartan Marching Band musicians have practiced, drilled and worked hard preparing for their inaugural marching band season. They have diligently set goals to perform for the St. Margaret’s community and to reach new heights with musical sounds at upcoming home football games.

On Saturday, September 11, the St. Margaret’s community kicked off the start of a new school year with the 5th Annual Tartan Family Roundup BBQ. This year’s celebration also included a special dedication and ribbon cutting for the new Middle School temporary campus.
After the bagpipers entered Gateway Field, PTF President Tricia Raymund and Tartan Family Roundup BBQ Chair, Karen Carnahan, welcomed the community and asked everyone to take a few moments to remember those who passed on this tragic day nine years ago. The last week of May was an exciting and victorious week for both grade 6 St. Margaret’s co-ed soccer teams as they each captured the South County Friendship Championship trophy for their respective leagues. With two teams at the grade 6 level, the league placed one St. Margaret’s team in the Large School Division coached by Johnny Marmelstein and Lori Fava and the other in the Small School Division coached by Kelly Nunn and Rian Otto . Both teams competed against many skilled soccer teams representing schools in the league.

At last week’s award ceremony at Quiksilver headquarters in Huntington Beach, St. Margaret’s seventh-grade students Benjamin Wang, Jack Cowan, Liam McGregor, Christian Carnahan and Brent Cahill were awarded second place in the annual QuikSCience Challenge.
