Due to requests from the Upper School community, we have brought back the Baja Burrito to the sales line on Wednesday. Burritos are offered by Baja Fresh and and include grilled chicken, melted jack cheese, fresh hand-made guacamole and pico de gallo wrapped in a warm flour tortilla (same as last year). They will be sold in the sales line only for $3.50. As always, if you have specific questions regarding the menu, please email lunch@smes.org.

Sign Up For Caltrans I-5 Construction Email Alerts

This week, Caltrans experienced unexpected project changes regarding the installation of temporary lights at the I-5/Ortega Construction project that caused significant traffic delays on Tuesday along Ortega Highway. Additionally, the change to temporary lights has caused further residual traffic impact. Caltrans is working to sync the temporary lights on and around the bridge on Ortega to ease this problem in the next few weeks.

The Upper School Operation Help-A-Hero Club will be running a toiletries drive during the two weeks following Spring Break. We would greatly appreciate donations of new toiletries and bath items of any size (shampoo, body wash, soap, deodorant, razors, shaving cream, lotion, etc.). There will be a marked plastic bin located in each division office. All donated toiletries will be used for Operation Help-A-Hero’s barracks projects, where volunteers prepare the barracks for returning Marines. I-5/Ortega Construction Update—Bridge Construction to Begin in June

The Orange County Register reported this week that Caltrans expects the major bridge construction that will create the most significant traffic impact to the area to begin in June 2013. St. Margaret’s has requested a long-term construction timeline from Caltrans.
Next week, Caltrans reports that preliminary infrastructure work to install temporary traffic signals and remove vegetation along the construction site will continue with lane and ramp closures taking place after 11 p.m. and concluding by 5 a.m.
