Alison Wachtel, St. Margaret’s P4 parent, came up with a wonderful idea to support children in need in our area sparked by her desire to honor the children of Newtown, Conn. One of the mothers of the victims in Newtown recently stated her family decided to, “choose love over anger” and continues to share the message “Love Wins.”

The “Love Wins” message has become a trademark of The Sandy Hook Promise. Fittingly, for Valentine’s Day, St. Margaret’s Preschool families honored the 26 angels who lost their lives byIMG_4049 collecting Teddy Bears (and other stuffed animals) for Laura’s House, a local shelter for battered women and their children. The stuffed animals will be placed on the bed of a new child entering the Laura’s House Shelter as comfort for a child who has witnessed or been a victim of domestic abuse. Our message to these children is we care for you too: “Love Wins.”

Our families also responded with love by donating gently used clothing, shoes, handbags and jewelry for sale at the Laura’s House Resale Store in Lake Forest, Calif.

Thank you to the generous Preschool families.
