Date and Times: October 4, 8:30 -9:30 a.m. or 2-3 p.m. Location: Library

By Tait Lihme
It wasn’t long ago that I was sneaking novels into various places by tucking them under my shirt and stuffing them into my jacket pockets. But no more! Now I shamelessly parade my books around everywhere I go. How is that possible without getting in trouble or being one of “those” people sitting alone reading in a restaurant? Because I’ve cleverly hidden my books on my iPad! Now, instead of looking like I’m a recluse, I look industrious no matter where I’m reading.

Of course, buying books – even digital ones – can be expensive. That’s why I was so excited when our very own St. Margaret’s Library announced a new digital book checkout system through Overdrive. After setting things up, my wife and I have enjoyed checking out and reading (and listening to) books from the Library on our own devices.

This service is available to all St. Margaret’s students and families. If you’d like to learn more, and especially if you’d like to start by getting help setting up your device, join us for one of our Digital Library workshops for parents. Bring your devices…all are welcome: iPads, iPods, iPhones, Nooks, and Kindles.
