2011-2012 Student Body By the Numbers

The 2011-2012 school year opened with a full school and record student enrollment. After opening last year with the largest student body in school history, St. Margaret’s again welcomed more students than ever before for the start of school, with a total enrollment of 1229 students compared to 1228 last year.

On Wednesday, 195 new students joined the community across all divisions, including 58 siblings of existing St. Margaret’s students. Over $3 million in financial aid was awarded to 215 students, or 18 percent of students, for the 2011-2012 school year. St. Margaret’s students live in 33 local communities. The top five communities represented among this year’s student body are San Juan Capistrano, San Clemente, Newport Beach, Laguna Niguel and Laguna Beach.

“We are excited to welcome our largest class of students in the 32-year history of the school,” said St. Margaret’s Headmaster Marcus D. Hurlbut. “We are extremely grateful for the trust and partnership we share with our parents in the education of their children. Standing in front of this impressive student body on the first day of school was invigorating and affirming of our strong academics, breadth of student program offerings and the nurturing and dynamic community we provide our students and families.”
