Mrs. Beshk’s second grade class looked like the United Nations last week on Passport Day. We set our desks up in a U-shape and shared what we learned through our country research reports.

A few weeks ago we picked countries that we were interested in studying. We researched our countries using library books and World Book online. We worked in groups to study traditional clothing, food and holidays. Each student made a flag at the computer lab and we used Thinking Maps to collect our thoughts so we could make PowerPoint presentations.

On Passport Day, we brought in food and clothing from our countries and shared what we learned. We got to visit different countries and wrote notes in our passports. This was a fun way to learn about where we are from and about other cultures!
