On Monday, The Orange County Register announced that three Orange County high school seniors have received awards from the National Federation of Independent Business Young Entrepreneur Foundation. Senior Johnny Li was among the three seniors. Out of 4,500 applicants nationwide, there were 131 winners. Each recipient won a $1,000 scholarship.

To enter the competition, Johnny wrote about his experience in founding and growing the Orange County Math Circle as a non-profit business since 2007.

“I reflected on activities such as writing the business plan, recruiting volunteers, establishing leadership, creating programs, promoting events, growing memberships and fundraising. It’s cool being selected for this award,” said Johnny.
