psearthdayScientists in the Early Childhood Development Center have been honoring the Earth this week, to celebrate Earth Day.

Students collected litter from the campus, discovering that St. Margaret’s is really very clean! They did find some litter on the football field, and they plan on writing a letter to Preschool Director Ingrid Andrews to let her know of their findings. They also honored the Earth by baking a round cake and frosting it with the colors you can see from space. They report that the cake was delicious. This has been a great week of learning and discovery.

All the classes gathered together Thursday and planted a Fuji apple tree in the Preschool yard. We sang songs to thank God and the Earth for giving us so much to be thankful for. We took the tree out of its container and placed it in the planter. The children helped by adding soil.

Happy Earth Day!
